Danielle Zielinski joined PAI in May 2010. As a Communications Specialist, she pitches stories and responds to requests from media, conducts media outreach around PAI publications and projects, writes press releases and items for PAI’s newsletter, and edits and proofreads publications. She also works on cultivating and maintaining PAI’s relationships with journalists and advocacy partners, and monitors PAI’s media presence. Prior to joining the staff, she volunteered with Challenging Heights, a Ghanaian organization that combats child trafficking, and was the media coordinator at The Advocacy Project, a DC-based nonprofit that works on human rights issues. Before that, Danielle spent five years working as a reporter at various newspapers, covering crime and justice, government, and health care. Danielle holds a master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill., and a bachelor’s degree in journalism and international studies, also from Northwestern.
