Michele Duryea, Vice President of Development

Michele has been with PAI since April 1997, and comes with over a decade of non-profit fundraising experience. At PAI, she ensures that the organization has the necessary financial resources to pursue its mission effectively. Directing the development staff and working closely with PAI’s president and program staff, Michele does the strategic development planning which includes the exploration of new strategies and target campaigns. She provides department oversight and management of activities including donor cultivation and stewardship. She oversees proposal and report submissions.

Prior to her position at PAI, Michele worked for the Friends of Cancer Research, an alliance of the national cancer community marking the 25th anniversary of the National Cancer Act with a public awareness and education campaign on the importance of cancer research. Her work in support of the organization included successful national and local fundraising events. Michele also has several years of experience in construction/real estate development/environmental consulting engaged in a broad spectrum of business and philanthropic enterprises. Additionally, she has worked on special projects and fundraising activities for a diverse group of organizations including DC Prevention League, Mayor’s Commission on Downtown Housing, and several comprehensive cancer centers across the country including George Washington University Cancer Center and Duke Comprehensive Cancer Center.
