Rebecca Dennis, Legislative Policy Analyst

Rebecca Dennis is a Legislative Policy Analyst at Population Action International where she lobbies the U.S. Congress and Executive Branch on both funding and policy issues. Her issue portfolio includes international family planning/reproductive health and promoting linkages and awareness of the importance of FP/RH programs to other foreign assistance and development initiatives, including emergency and conflict settings, gender-based violence and security. Rebecca previously worked at United to End Genocide where she coordinated national advocacy campaigns encouraging US foreign policy decisions which would emphasize the need for civilian protection, humanitarian aid, accountability and comprehensive political settlements in conflict zones like Sudan and Burma. In this position, she worked to incorporate the specific needs of women and girls in conflict affected areas into the organization’s messaging and awareness efforts. Rebecca is a graduate of Michigan State University where she majored in International Relations. While in school, she completed an internship in Geneva, Switzerland with the policy team of an international refugee advocacy and relief organization.
